Doula Services, Massage Labor/birth, Pre-/Postnatal & Infant Massage Ashana Jones-Bell is a down to earth mother and grandmother who lives in Downtown Charleston with her husband Tony Bell and three spoiled fur babies. Ashana is a licensed massage therapist and professional Birth Doula certified by Nurturing the Mother in prenatal massage, labor massage, post-natal and infant massage. Certified by ACE for cupping vacu-therapy as well as having had education and experience as a certified nurse assistant. Long before becoming a professional Birth Doula, Ashana was often called on to provide labor assistance for friends and family. Eventually there was an organic transition into professional birth work. In addition to being an experienced massage therapist, certified nursing assistant and birth worker, Ashana is certified in multiple healing modalities including master level Lightarian Reiki, Access Consciousness BARS, Sai Shakti healing and herbal practices. Being part of a strong community of healers, Ashana is fortunate to be able to draw on a unique collective wisdom that spans many generations. She is a firm believer that every woman should be empowered to labor and give birth the way she desires. When armed with education and unconditional support, your birth can be a powerful experience that is transcendent, transformative and beautiful. Remembering when her sons were babies and she was a young single mother living far away from home, there were times when Ashana would be reduced to tears after babies who were fed, clean, dry and swaddled continued to cry… and cry… aaand cry. One day at church an old woman took the socks off of her youngest during a fit of fussiness and simply massaged his feet. He was asleep in no time! Ashana was thrilled a few years ago to find that there was a whole massage routine just for infants.
